Marica Gerber is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor (IRBA) with specialised forensic accounting training and over two decades of independent practice experience spanning external audit, accounting and assurance, taxation, and forensic investigation.
She practises independently through Camira Registered Accountants and Auditors, following early-career experience in Deloitte's Specialist Forensic and Investigation Services division in Woodmead, where she contributed to complex assignments for major corporate clients including Rennies/Bidvest, Dimension Data, and First National Bank.
Forensic engagements are conducted applying an independent, evidence-based methodology consistent with the standard required for legal and regulatory proceedings. She has led investigations across a wide range of sectors and fact patterns, including matters culminating in litigation, disciplinary action, and liquidation.
Her tax dispute resolution practice includes objections, appeals, VDP applications, and compromise of tax debt, supported by a Professional Certificate in Tax Dispute Resolution from The Tax Faculty. She also holds an Advanced Certificate in Companies and Securities Law (UNISA, with Distinction) and a Higher Diploma in Forensic Accounting (UNISA) with distinctions in Fraud Prevention, Fraud Detection, and Forensic Audit.
